Retirement8000 Days in Retirement: The 4 Phases of Retirement

MIT AgeLab conducted a study and concluded that, on average, we live about 8000 days in retirement.

That is a lot of days.

A lot of opportunities.

A lot to plan for.

This is supposed to be the prime of your life. The time where you can finally enjoy the things you have set aside for so long.

But first, you need to know what will pop up on this journey.

Over the next weeks, I will be highlighting some of the most important decisions you need to consider.

As you read them, ask yourself: Are you prepared?

1.  The Honeymoon Phase

Everyone’s transition into retirement looks different. There are a few important things to consider.

2.  The Big Decision Phase

You’ve settled into retirement, now it’s time to make some more life-changing decisions that will define the future of your retirement.

3.  The Navigating Longevity Phase

You have made some big decisions, now you look at how your financial and personal needs will change, and how to make sure you are fully organized and prepared for what’s ahead.

4.  The Solo Journey Phase

Health issues, physical limitations, and the loss of a partner are all things you may experience at this point. Being prepared ahead of time allows you to focus on what’s important when the time comes.
