Now is the time to get all your paperwork in order.
Ask your financial advisor if he has suggestions for a financial organizer – a place to keep critical data like account information, balance sheets, and legal documents.
Your financial advisor may also be able to assist you with collecting and organizing all other ‘need to know’ information such as utilities, mortgages, bank loans, car notes, subscriptions, etc.
You will also want a cheat sheet for all login information for payment portals, passwords to electronics, health records, home maintenance, and so on.
Your financial advisor can help with any Medicare or Social Security questions you may have. As well as get you in touch with an attorney to get a POA assigned, and provide any other referrals to make sure you are covered in every aspect.
You will want to keep all of this information extremely secure, of course, but having it in a secure location you and your loved ones can easily get to is important.
