As the 9-5 life fades further from your norm, it’s easy to feel lost and empty. For many of us, our careers
were what defined us, what gave us purpose.
Whether that was a corporate job, skilled labor, raising children, or anything in between, we had a reason to wake up every day.
And while travel and hobbies may have helped distract you for a while, they are only a temporary reprieve. To be fully satisfied in retirement, you must rediscover your personal ‘why’. You need to be dedicated to specific activities that accomplish something great every day.
Ask yourself some of these questions to help you get started:
🎭 What types of arts interest you?
❤️ What kind of volunteer opportunities do you enjoy?
📚 What educational opportunities would you like to pursue?
✝️ If you are a member of any faith-based groups, are there activities you could participate in?
And remember, it’s never a bad idea to solicit input from other retirees who seem to be living a fruitful and fulfilling life.
