If you are a caregiver – whether that be for an elderly parent, a grandchild, or anything else, you will need to determine how long you can adequately maintain the care you are providing.
- Is your home currently set up for caregiving? Especially once mobility becomes more of a challenge.
- You will need to plan for when you will no longer be best suited to provide the care.
- You should plan for an approximate time frame, the transition of care, and what the end result will be.
Other questions to consider:
- Will you need to place elders in a facility?
- What is their health like?
- Who will help make decisions regarding their health?
- Do you have siblings? If so, what role do they play?
